Still in the 70's

In a world of interiors that has become so grey
and "Resto," these fun playful interiors feel so fresh.
I mean, upholstered-to-match-your-drapes television?
Amazing.

The images below are from an orignal, untouched (aside from new white carpet) home
in the Marrakesh Country Club development from the early 70's.

Tears of Chios

I've always wanted to live in color. Unfortunately, these shades only work in rooms with beautifully plastered, aged walls...walls with history, culture, and purpose. Stratis Vogiatzis's photo series, Mastihohoria, is a perfect example of this authenticity. The word Mastihohoria means "mastic villages".
Mastic, a tree resin found in the Mediterranean is used in the construction of many homes on the greek island of Chios. Perfection.

Cuba Next?

The colors and textures of Cuba are so inspiring.
Would love to go one day and experience what photographer Michael Eastman has captured.

In the meantime, we like Cubana Social in Brooklyn.

An LSD Trip

A Lauren Santo Domingo trip! Sara and I are flipping over her home recently featured in Vogue. It is such a great mix and feels perfectly edited at the same time. This is one of the few interiors I've looked at and thought, everything is just right. Click on the link above for a few more shots.
