Factory/Garden Home in Paris

I LOVE the dark, moody, Paris home of Laurence Simoncini,

owner of well known children's boutique Serendipity.

In a converted steel factory, the"loft style" home designed by Valerie Mazerat (of Merci fame)

is the perfect combination of minimalist achitecture and warm organic colors and textures.

The courtyard garden situated in the center of the home adds the perfect amount of nature and light

 to a otherwise industrial space.

the gardener's daughter

She was his youngest secret

He called her the gardener's daughter when those inquired

At 17, Marie-Thérèse Walter became Picasso's lover and muse

She gave birth to their daughter, Maya, at 25

They never married, and her face in the paintings was replaced by that of artist Dora Maar

Like most tragic love stories, her life ended sadly

4 years after his.

Deyrolle + Opening Ceremony

Opening Ceremony has teamed up with Deyrolle 1831and made these scarves for their Paris Flea Market themed New York's Fashion Night Out. Sara and I love Paris' Deyrolle. For those of you who have been as well, you know that there are no pictures allowed! The rest of you must go the next time you are in Paris, and make sure to go through the drawers of butterflies and insects!
