We are East Coast girls...
Born and raised in CT, living in Brooklyn, full of Yankee pride.
After spending some time in LA/Palm Springs, I was ready for my NY...
until we visited Monte Nido.
A horse-loving community set deep in the Malibu canyons,
it seemed too good to be true. (which it was, because we had to leave the next day)
thanks Deb and Phil for the most beautiful stay.

I love this post!
ReplyDeleteI am like you two: A born and bred East Coaster who only dreamed of being an adult with an NYC life. But I switched coasts two years ago, at age 26, after spending some real time in Malibu and the Santa Barbara countryside (it helps that I married a man from the area.) The thing is, flights to New York are so easy to come by, and of course Los Angeles and San Francisco provide small doses of cosmopolitanism when I need a quick fix (I'll never think that they suffice totally, but it's better than I expected.)
For diversity and raw beauty of nature, there is really nothing like California. I'm so glad you girls got a glimpse!
Hi Karen & Sara,
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool. Glad you loved our Monte Nido Ranchetta. It was so great having you here and we look forward to your return for a longer stay.
Thanks for the great pictures..... The horses are missing you and the carrots.
Much Love---Debbie & Phil
