Tears of Chios

I've always wanted to live in color. Unfortunately, these shades only work in rooms with beautifully plastered, aged walls...walls with history, culture, and purpose. Stratis Vogiatzis's photo series, Mastihohoria, is a perfect example of this authenticity. The word Mastihohoria means "mastic villages".
Mastic, a tree resin found in the Mediterranean is used in the construction of many homes on the greek island of Chios. Perfection.

  1. These are fantastic! I used the one of the sofa and cushions in a blog post ages ago but no idea where the image had come from.
