POWDER RIDGE

I'm trying to go to Coachella this year. Any one selling an extra pass? ;)

The Power Ridge Rock Festival was supposed to be the second Woodstock in 1970. Officials cancelled the show after 30,000 fans were expected. Even though the show was cancelled, 25,000 fans showed up anyway (most of them not knowing of the cancellation).

Photographer Leonard Freed captured these images below at the Powder Ridge Ski Resort in the middle of Connecticut. Thousands of fans*** set up tent and chilled.

***Update. Our number one fan, our mother informed me tonight that she attended Powder Ridge. She said it was exactly as depicted. Cool, huh?!

  1. What a great find these pics are! You amaze me with the things you find. I had actually kind of forgotten about Powder Ridge even though I was there. Thanks for the post. I'll definitely check out all of the pictures - maybe I'll find myself in one!
