Being the hopeless romantic that I am, I love photographs taken of people during a time in their lives when they were so in love. Even better, are artists in love, who influence each other and their work so drastically throughout the course of their relationship. Although most of these relationships between artists ended in heartache, betrayal, or death; the passion between these lovers is undeniable.
For the first part of this series, here are some images of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. Even though they were no longer together at the time of Jackson's death (his girlfriend survived their car crash and he did not), Pollock and Krasner were buried next to one another on Long Island where they shared a home and studio. The Pollock-Krasner House and Studio is open for tours where one can see the paint dried studio where the two once lived, worked and loved.
